The LCS-1040 is a USB speaker that can be separated into two components: a USB DAC and a conventional pair of amplified PC speakers, without any modificatons. The DAC output is a male 1/8" stereo connector, and can be interfaced with other equipment using readily available adaptors. The amplified PC speaker portion has a conventional female 1/8" stereo input connector.
The USB DAC portion of LCS-1040, when installed in Windows 98, is equivalent in function to the output side of a regular PC sound card, with Roland software wave-table MIDI. It is tested here as if it were a sound card beause it is equivalent in function.
